The Clients Who Changed My Life (Without Saying Their Names)
People often ask me what my favourite part of being a lash artist is.
They expect me to say the artistry.
Or the creativity.
Or the transformations.
And while I love all of those things, the real answer is much softer and far more personal:
It’s the women.
The stories.
The quiet moments on the lash bed that no one else sees.
Over the years, I’ve had clients who changed me — not in dramatic, obvious ways, but in subtle shifts that shaped my compassion, my resilience, my maturity, and my understanding of what it means to hold space for others.
I may never say their names,
but I carry their impact with me every day.
The Woman Who Taught Me Strength
She walked into my studio with a softness that only people who’ve lived through something can carry.
She didn’t say much during her first appointment — just small talk, quiet smiles, calm energy.
But as the months passed, she opened up in little moments, and I learned about the heartbreak she had survived.
What struck me was the way she never spoke from bitterness.
She spoke from courage.
Her story reminded me that strength doesn’t always look loud.
Sometimes it’s simply choosing to keep going.
She never knew it, but she taught me grace.
The Client Who Reminded Me Why This Work Matters
She was a new mum — exhausted, overwhelmed, and running on autopilot.
You could see it in her eyes.
You could hear it in her voice.
She told me during her appointment that she hadn’t done anything for herself in months.
Not even something small.
When she opened her eyes after her set, she looked at herself for a long moment.
Then she whispered, “I finally feel like me again.”
I’ll never forget that.
Because it reminded me that beauty isn’t vanity —
it’s a way back to ourselves.
The Woman Who Came Through Every Chapter of My Career
She was one of my very first clients — back when my studio was tiny, my confidence was shaky, and my dreams felt bigger than my ability.
She trusted me long before I trusted myself.
She returned month after month, year after year, through every studio move, every price increase, every new chapter.
Watching her life unfold — relationships, heartbreak, new jobs, new beginnings — made me realise how deeply intertwined this work is with the human experience.
She taught me loyalty.
She taught me trust.
And she taught me the beauty of growing alongside someone.
The Client Who Showed Me the Power of Vulnerability
Some clients talk; some rest; some cry quietly without explaining why.
One woman came in during a very difficult season of her life.
She never said what she was going through in detail, but her silence held weight.
She would lie down, close her eyes, and let the hour be her escape.
Sometimes tears would fall.
Sometimes she didn’t speak at all.
But I learned that creating a safe space is not about saying the right thing —
it’s about simply being there.
I realised the lash bed can become a sanctuary.
A place where women feel safe enough to unravel, even if just for a moment.
She taught me empathy without words.
The Client Who Changed the Way I See Beauty
She came to me after years of feeling insecure about her looks.
She spoke negatively about herself in a way that felt too familiar —
because I’ve had those moments too.
But every time she returned, I watched her slowly shift.
Her posture straightened.
Her smile became brighter.
She stopped criticising herself and started celebrating the features she once wanted to hide.
The lashes didn’t transform her —
she transformed herself.
The lashes simply showed her a version of herself she’d forgotten.
She reminded me that beauty starts with the way we speak to ourselves.
The Women Who Helped Me Grow — Even Without Knowing It
There are clients who brought me laughter.
Clients who brought me lessons.
Clients who challenged my boundaries.
Clients who taught me patience.
Clients who taught me professionalism.
Clients who taught me how to run a business with softness and strength.
Each one shaped me.
Each one softened or sharpened me in the best ways.
Each one added something to Angel Lash that I could never create on my own.
This isn’t a business built on lashes.
It’s a business built on connection.
Final Thoughts
I’ve met hundreds of women through this work — women at their highest, women at their lowest, women in transition, women in healing, women becoming new versions of themselves.
Some I’ll remember forever.
Some I’ll never forget for reasons they’ll never know.
They walked into my studio for lashes,
but they left having given me something too —
insight, presence, reminder, inspiration.
These women helped shape the artist, the woman, and the business owner I’ve become.
And I will always honour that.
